Our Core Services: Total FOG Management in Unalaska
Professional Grease Trap Pumping & Cleaning
Our primary service focus is the thorough extraction of all accumulated Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG). Unlike "splash and dash" services, M5T ensures the bottom-of-the-tank solids are removed, preventing the hardened "grease-cap" that leads to structural damage and foul odors.
Hydro Jetting for Unalaska Restaurants
Unalaska's humid climate can accelerate the solidification of grease in your lateral lines. We use high-pressure hydro jetting to clear sludge and mineral deposits, restoring your pipes to their original diameter. This is essential for old infrastructure in historic areas like Burns Square.
Interceptor Inspection & Compliance Reporting
Unalaska County has strict FOG ordinances. We provide documented proof of service, ensuring you have the paperwork ready when a health inspector walks through your door. We monitor the 25% rule—ensuring your trap never exceeds the maximum allowable solids.
Why Unalaska Businesses Choose M5T Grease Trap Cleaning
Deep Roots in the Unalaska Community
We aren't a national franchise that treats you like a number. We know the unique challenges of the Unalaska, AK landscape. We understand the seasonal influx of "Snowbirds" that puts extra strain on restaurant infrastructure between January and April. We adapt our schedules to your "off-peak" hours so your customers never smell the pumping process.
Advanced Technology & Tools
We utilize industrial-grade vacuum trucks and digital manifests. Our tools allow us to service everything from small under-sink interceptors to massive 2,000-gallon outdoor underground tanks.
Understanding Unalaska's FOG Regulations (Fats, Oils, and Grease)
In Unalaska, AK, the local government is aggressive about protecting the municipal sewer system and our precious coastline. Improper grease disposal leads to "fatbergs" in the city lines, which can cause raw sewage overflows into the Unalaska Bay.
Key Regulations We Help You Navigate:
- Unalaska County Code Article VIII: Specific mandates on the frequency of cleaning.
- Manifest Requirements: You must maintain records for at least three years.
- The 25% Rule: If the floating grease and settled solids exceed 25% of the total capacity, the trap is considered "failed" by local inspectors.
Problem & Solution: Why Your Grease Trap is Failing
The "Rotten Egg" Odor
If your customers are complaining of a sulfur-like smell near your kitchen or outdoor patio, your interceptor has likely gone anaerobic. In the Unalaska heat, bacteria bloom quickly. M5T provides deep-scrub cleaning that eliminates the odor at the source.
Slow Drains and Floor Sink Overflows
When the grease trap is full, the water has nowhere to go but back up your floor drains. This usually happens during your busiest Friday night rush. Our Unalaska Emergency Response Team is available 24/7 to clear these blockages before they cause a permanent closure.
Maintenance & Prevention: The Unalaska Kitchen Checklist
To keep your Unalaska business running efficiently, follow these preventative steps:
- Dry Scraping: Always scrape plates into the trash, not the sink.
- No Hot Water Flushes: Contrary to popular belief, pouring boiling water down the drain just pushes grease further into the city lines where it cools and hardens.
- Regular Scheduling: Most Unalaska restaurants require a 30, 60, or 90-day pump schedule depending on volume.
- Strainer Baskets: Use high-quality drain strainers to catch food solids before they enter the trap.
Service Area Expansion: Beyond Unalaska Proper
M5T Grease Trap is proud to serve the entire region, including:
- Siesta Key: Specialized equipment for tight alleyways and beach-front properties.
- Longboat Key: Discreet servicing for high-end resorts and clubs.
- Lakewood Ranch: Comprehensive plans for new-build commercial developments.
- Venice & North Port: Reliable routing for south-county businesses.
